Q1. Why do I sometimes have multiple choices when adding a returning student?
A. While we are working to clean up duplicate records, if your search returns multiple records that are seemingly the same student this could be a duplicate problem. Please select the most recent record (not the first one).
Q2. Why can't I add a student who I know has been moved out?
A. Students can only be added as a returning student if the grade level you are attempting to add them to matches the grade level in the DIBELS system for the year in question. Alternatively, if the student does not have a record in the system for the year in question, then the change in years must equal the change in grade leve. In other words, retained students, students moving grade levels within a year, and double promoted students create difficulties that often necessitate multiple records for the same student because of how the DIBELS DMS is set up.
Q3. What if I am still having trouble adding a student who I am certain has previously attended TUSD?
A. Please make sure the student has been moved out. One way to do this is after finding the student so that you are aware of the class the student is assigned to, go to enter/edit data for the classroom teacher for the student's most recent benchmark period and click on "moved out". The student will then be available through the normal process of "add a returning student".
